Day 3
Today was a lesson in phase change.
We woke up early (not early enough—we didn’t make it in time
to swim at the base of the waterfall), got ready for the day despite complete
darkness due to an electricity outage, and drove to Rincon de la Vieja national
park. We hiked through snakes and
spiders and poisonous spiny caterpillars for a couple hours. There, we saw
boiling mud of a variety of colors and compositions, sulfur-scented steam, and flowing
waterfalls.
We saw a butterfly change from cocoon stage to ready-to-fly
winged creature.
Changes we have not yet seen:
Taylor has not yet eaten any of the meat served at Finca la
Anita.
The fruit juice is still really good.
Taylor has not ceased to scream every time she sees a moth.
The moths have not ceased to attack Taylor.
Taylor still, like last year, wants DQ at the airport.
The dogs are still here from last year.
We’ve all still not been stung by a bullet ant.
We are all still insanely grateful for this opportunity (@
mama and baba ;))))) ).
.
Pura Vida,
