Day 2

Day 2
Once upon a time, there were 16 students. Then they became 17. We were so responsible that we did the exact opposite of losing a student. You may be questioning our methods, so we’ll grant you an answer—we were studying all day. Actually we welcomed Jacob. We revisited all the information from the classes we had throughout the year in a single morning, and then we got to work looking into ideas for projects. We have been eating goooood. We had breakfast (with coffee) then lunch and then a break with churros y chocolate caliente, then dinner. Now we are writing you live from the insect-infected porch, which we have been sitting on for a significant number of hours throughout the day.
Also after lunch we went to the small shop of the village (the pulperia), quickly followed by a trip to the ice cream store (aka a local’s home with a sign for ice cream ). It was also Nathan’s birthday, so we sang and ate cake and even more ice cream J We are starting to get to know each others’ names…it’s a work in progress. Tomorrow we’ve got to get up at the crack of dawn, 5:15 am approximately. We are taking a bus to the National Park which is about an hour away to hike, swim and have lots of fun before an afternoon of working on our project proposals.

Good Night, from Ellie and Iya!
